Patches & Updates PHP 4.3.8 Update

The update is for Web servers, and includes Apache 1.3.31-13 and PHP 4.3.8. It works both for H-Sphere 2.3.2 and 2.4. The procedure is performed on the CP server and updates all web servers automatically. If your CP server apache is older than 1.3.31, it will also be updated.


Make sure to meet these requirements before you start the upgrade. This is important!

CP Server:
- hsphere-cpanel-apache-1.3.29-x or hsphere-cpanel-apache-1.3.31-x installed.

Web Server:
- hsphere-apache-webbox-1.3.29-9 or hsphere-apache-webbox-1.3.31-x installed.
- Postgres 7.3.4 installed if you have a PostgreSQL server running on the same box.
- MySQL4x installed if you have a MySQL server running on the same box.
- PHP 4.3.4 with MySQL4x support installed.
- OpenSSL v.0.9.7c or later for your OS.

WARNING: If you have custom php modules installed on H-Sphere WEB boxes, don't forget to back them up before upgrading the software. After the upgrade, set them back up and restart the service.


  1. Log into your control panel server as root:
    su -
  2. Download the update package from the psoft site:
  3. Unpack the archive:
    tar -zxf u-apache-1.3.31-13.tgz
  4. Enter the unpacked directory:
    cd u-apache-1.3.31-13
  5. Run the update:

The upgrade installs the following new apache packages on H-Sphere CP and WEB boxes:

FreeBSD 4.x:

RedHat 7.2, RedHat AS/ES/WS 2.1:

RedHat 7.3:

RedHat AS/ES/WS 3.x, CentOS 3.x:
